Swimbait fishing and Seabass

Swimbait fishing has become incredibly popular and almost cult-like in recent years, primarily associated with freshwater environments and targeting two main predators: bass and pike.

However, as often happens, we're fascinated by techniques developed in Japan and try to adapt them to our own waters and species. This is the case with seabass fishing using swimbaits, a widespread approach in Japan, especially given the aggressiveness and size of the Suzuki (Japanese sea bass), which can grow over a meter long.

Even for this type of lure, it's possible to adapt swimbaits originally designed for bass fishing in terms of shape, size, and color. Sometimes, though, imitating the prey of seabass or opting for more eccentric color combinations can make a real difference.

Eclipse, the saltwater division of the Rings group, in collaboration with Madness, has created exclusive saltwater colors for the famous Balam in both the 245 and 300 versions.

The 4 proposed colors are divided into 3 natural and much brighter one, very useful for low-light or murky water conditions.

This swimbait, born from the mind of Shimada Satan, has unique characteristics. Designed for very fast, almost frenetic retrieves to trigger reactive strikes, it displaces a lot of water and can be useful in any spot where you need to really excite the fish.

Its effectiveness on bass and pike is already widely proven, and now we have the opportunity to exploit its full potential for the queen of the sea as well.
